It is officially one month out from leaving to go to training camp for the World Race.
The last month has been a journey with all of the moving parts that go into leaving everything that I have ever known for nine months, but it has been so special.
The last month has been so emotional just in my day-to-day and week-to-week life that I am just eternally grateful to get the opportunities that the Lord has trusted and given me.
I got to be a leader on a trip down to Daytona, Florida where we brought 20 freshman students to be alongside thousands of others to learn more about the Lord. This week taught me that serving has so many aspects that I need to learn, especially from students around this age. A servant's heart is truly what I aspire to have and be able to be filled up, as I pour out into these students.
Last week was the last "big week" for me before I go off to training camp. The next few weeks are going to be lots of the nitty gritty with obtaining lots of my supplies for the trip, and lots of last goodbyes, at least for a while.
I am so excited to get on the trip and update this page once a week because I know the Lord will be working overtime on our squad and squad leaders overseas.
I have around four thousand dollars left to raise and I am so thankful for all of the support from donors, through prayers, and just into the world race organization itself. In no world did I think it was possible to raise roughly fifteen thousand dollars in the span of a month, but the Lord provided, and he will continue to provide until my last breath.
If you feel led or have questions that need to be answered my phone is always available, at least until I leave for training camp.
I cannot say thank you enough to everyone that has come across this page and to the billions who haven't because God answers all prayers on his timing. We may want all of the answers now, but why have faith if he is a God of instant gratification. He may answer prayers in ways that we do not like, but we must lean in and accept because we know his plan and purpose for our lives surpasses all understanding and what we can comprehend.
Little nugget of wisdom that I heard recently: The presence of silence never equals the absence of God
God is there in the highs and the lows. In the loud and in the quiet. Trust that he is there to pick you up and to pull you away from the devil's ruthlessness. Stay alert and of sober mind.
I will most likely update this page once, maybe twice, before I am off to training camp, so please feel free to reach out for any reason.
